Here birdie...

Here are my photos showing the rule of thirds. The first is a rather uninteresting picture of a cat looking out the window. The second picture add a lot more to the story and explains her true intentions...now if she could only figure out how to open the door.

These are great shots. I enjoy the one using the rule of threes more. It gives the eye so much more to wander over. The first picture works, however my eyes don't move beyond your cat. Nice work.

It's funny: within the past hour my cat has caught and devoured two mice she found in our field. Then to open your new post, read the words "here birdie" and see pictures of your cat at the window... I just had to laugh and show my wife.

It's interesting how using the rule of thirds also offers more information. In the first picture, it's a cat at the window, but then by moving the camera slightly one can see what the cat is watching. Excellent example.

Great use of the rule of thirds in your cat photo! There is definitely more to see and understand from the second photo. While in the first one you'd only think of the main subject (the cat), the second takes you further to the true intention, other than looking out the window. It's a fun photo to look at.

You are SO right the bottom cat picture is so much more interesting. Partly because we get to see a big expanse of window.
